The State Auditor General, Muhammad Buba G, (FCNA) hailed from Tongo town of Funakaye Local Government Area of Gombe State, Nigeria.

He attended Central Primary School Gombe from 1973 -1979 where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. He proceeded to Government Secondary School, Kaltungo from 1979 to 1984 where he obtained General Certificate of Education (GCE). He attended and obtained National Diploma from Federal Cooperative College Oji-River, Enugu State in 1989. He attended and obtained Higher National Diploma (HND) from the Federal Polytechnic Mubi in 1995, He attended and obtained Postgraduate Diploma in Management from the University of Maiduguri in 1998, thereafter attended and obtained BSc. Accounting from the Prestigious Maryam Abacha University Maradi, Niger Republic. He also attended Nasarawa State University Keffi from 2017 to 2018 where he obtained Masters in Business Administration (Accounting).

Muhammmad Buba G, attended ANAN College of Accountancy Jos, now ANAN University Kwall, Plateau State where he obtained a Professional Diploma in Accounting in 2002. He became a member of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) in 2002. Muhammad Buba G was awarded the highest level of honour in Accountancy profession in Nigeria a FELLOW of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria in the year 2010. He was also awarded FELLOW Chartered System Accountant (USA) in the same year. He is also Registered with Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.
